Take off your mask and connect with your true masculine power. The darkness of the sweat lodge invites us to face our own darkness and bring it into the light. Healing begins.
The history of men in the world follows a horrific path of war and destruction. Of murder, plunder, and rape. The guilt built up from generation to generation is hidden behind a mask, and we experience the world as a dangerous place.
What is this guilt, and why do we suffer from it? Why are we ashamed of who we truly are? Does the guilt of our fathers and all the other men responsible for the atrocities of the 20th century weigh so heavily on our shoulders? Is that why we feel guilty, anxious, or angry and need a mask to hide behind? Is that the reason we work so hard? Are we trying to make amends? But no matter what we do, our experience is that it is never enough, never good enough.
Somewhere between our mask of being so damn nice but invisible and the armor of being tough but alone lies the face of a man who is truly honest, truly confident, and truly loving. Only from this innocence can you authentically serve your environment. Only from this place can you experience a sense of direction, purpose, and meaning.
Although the workshop is separate from the women, there is a healing ceremony with the women at the end. After this weekend, you will move in a new direction with a deeper awareness and greater clarity about all your relationships. The men's workshop is led by Paul Goudsmit.
