Happy Holidays
From us to all of you -we wish you the very best. Let your light, light the world.
For those of us from traditional western and Christian backgrounds, we call this the Christmas season. However, all cultures and religions have some form of tradition such as Hanukkah and Diwali in which the darkest hours are literally “lit up” with celebration and hope. For the pagans among us, during the winter solstice we acknowledge the gradual return of sunlight, the promise of renewal and rebirth in nature.
These celebrations hold profound symbolic significance. Light represents hope, purity, wisdom, and divine presence. In the darkest times, the light serves as a beacon of hope. Celebrations centered around light remind us that even amid challenges and uncertainty, love exists. When we celebrate light, we heighten our awareness of the divine presence within us, and we are guided to deeper understanding and compassion for others.
However, we acknowledge this season, when we gather in celebration, we honour an illuminating force beyond ourselves and engage the core of our humanity. By embracing the light, we awaken hope, foster connection, and inspire transformation. Let us honor this light within us all and share its warmth with others, creating a more compassionate and illuminated world.
A personal note from Jane:
I have achieved my goal for this year in just two months since setting it! My goal: to experience that I am wanted, valued, and that I belong. I have spent many years of my life hiding and protecting my beliefs in the opposite. I had collected a lot of evidence proving that I was not welcome in this world and that what I offer is not valued. Having stated my goal of healing these beliefs the answer came as a powerful lesson, wrapped in an unexpected package. About a month ago, while visiting Canada, I experienced a heart attack.
This event humbled me - not just in acknowledging my physical body and possible imminent mortality, but more profoundly in recognizing that my beliefs were simply not true. There has never been a time that I was not loved or cared for by the Universe; I just hadn’t been able to see it.
From the moment I realized I was having a heart attack, so many pieces and people fell into place. My son and daughter in law who live in a different Canadian city just happened to be in Toronto on that day and had planned to stay the weekend, friends surrounded me, I had no Canadian health insurance and the surgery and tests were going to be super expensive, it was all taken care of by the hospital. The list goes on as does my gratitude. Love was in every corner and came in many disguises. My long-held beliefs and perceptions had kept me from grasping this truth.
Though the form of the lesson may seem extreme, my gratitude is immense. Thank you, Universe. I will now take a break before moving on to my next goal.
Love and gratitude to all.
Jane and Paul
