The miracle is the door
If someone were to ask me what the essence of *A Course in Miracles* is, I wouldn't have to think very long.
For me, it is the miracle.
For a long time, I believed that a miracle was something extraordinary—something that happened outside of me. Today I experience it very differently. To me, a miracle is an entirely different way of seeing. It is as if a door suddenly opens, and I realize that the very situation I had been struggling with is revealing something completely different.
For me, a miracle begins the moment I say yes to what is.
Not because it is pleasant. Not because it doesn't hurt. But because I am willing to stop running from reality—to stay fully present with it and discover how it is working for me rather than against me.
I have experienced this many times throughout my life.
When my father passed away, I felt an overwhelming sadness. I also felt relief because the struggle between us had finally come to an end. That was confusing. Yet the moment I stopped pushing my grief away, something remarkable happened. Beneath the sorrow was so much love. I felt how deeply I loved my father and how deeply he loved me. That love had always been there. I simply couldn't feel it until I stopped fighting what had happened.
I have experienced the same thing in my work.
There have been periods when I lost a great deal of money. In the past, I would immediately fall into fear. At some point, I chose to believe something different. I decided that every financial setback would ultimately serve me, and that whatever I lost would return in another form. My trust grew stronger and stronger. In fact, it became so strong that one day I found myself genuinely grateful for a significant financial loss. Not because I enjoy losing money, but because I truly knew it was not the end. And every single time, something emerged that I never could have anticipated.
In many ways, I think it is a miracle that I am writing this.
Throughout my life, I have often been told that I was "too much." That I took up too much space or thought too big. Yet all I ever wanted was to let my heart speak. The fact that I now allow my own voice to be heard feels incredibly precious. It is as if I no longer have to hold myself back.
That is also why I love *A Course in Miracles* so deeply.
Not because it solves my problems, but because it continually invites me to see differently.
One of my teachers once said, "When you notice a crisis, move toward it. Don't run away from it. Go directly to the place where you feel resistance." Those words have stayed with me ever since.
More and more, I experience a crisis and a miracle as two sides of the same coin. Hidden within every crisis is a miracle. Not because the crisis itself is beautiful, but because it invites me to see differently. The moment I become willing to stop fighting the crisis and truly welcome it, space begins to open. Something appears that I simply could not see before. More love. More truth. More freedom. And that is precisely what allows me to grow as a human being.
To be honest, without all the difficult experiences in my life, I would never have found *A Course in Miracles*. Without all the struggles, I would never have discovered this path. That, too, is a miracle.
For me, the miracle is not the destination.
The miracle is the doorway.
The doorway to a reality in which love was always present, even when I could not yet see it.
The miracle does not change the world.
The miracle changes the way I look at the world.
And because of that, everything changes.
